Reel Ethics
Ethics and compliance issues play major roles in many movies. Paul Fiorelli will post a short (5-10 minute) video overview biweekly discussing the relevant issues and theatrical background information for a movie. These reviews will contain “Spoilers”, but will help viewers focus on the ethics and compliance related issues in the film. Several of the initial postings were used in his MBA class at Xavier University. The course was titled “Online Business Ethics Through Film” and was a popular elective for many years.
While you don’t have to worry about being graded, you may learn more about these important issues. (And might even consider using legally licensed video clips in future training, as Paul does in his presentations.)

Using legally licensed video clips from movies can enhance training engagement and retention. A company licensing these clips for one-day training is Swank Motion Pictures. The clips can be used for in person, online, or hybrid training, as long as the session is not recorded.

(Dis)Honesty: The Truth About Lies is a 2015 documentary directed by Yael Melamede. Half the movie focuses on Duke University Behavioral Economist – Dr. Dan Ariely and his exploration into the field of rationalization. The other half looks at different cheaters – from crooked NBA basketball referees to insider traders.
Equity: Women on Wall Street, Pressure to Perform and Insider Trading.

Equity explores how women are treated on Wall Street, the pressure they have to perform, and the insider trading betrayal from her co-worker and romantic partner.
